As in all of our disciplines, Professional Pathology
Services is dedicated to providing the most accurate
and comprehensive interpretation possible.
Our pathologists have over 20 years experience in the pathological
diagnosis of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases in both
adult and pediatric populations. In addition to conventional
histopathological (H&E) evaluation, we also provide ancillary
methodologies including specialized staining for organisms such as
confirmatory immunostaining for Helicobacter pylori, and tumor
classification utilizing histochemistry and molecular techniques.
Specific pathophysiologic areas of interest include hepatitis,
hepatic neoplasia, chronic inflammatory bowel disease (CIBD),
Barrett's esophagus, and colonic polyps/neoplasia as well
as expertise in cytopathology. PPS, PC has also provided
nearly a decade of pathology support and teaching for GI
fellowship training, advisory activity with the Crohn's and
Colitis Foundation of America, and pathology support for
regional basic research (MAPS II colon polyp study).
